(meteorobs) Summary of Recent Interesting Topics!

For those just joining the list, or those lost in the blizzard of hard to
fathom (or hard to read!) emails, here's a short summary of the More
Interesting Recent Threads (in my opinion) on the list:

Getting Started in Meteor Observing: amateur organizations; people on the
Internet willing to help; the joys of observing in Spring weather; not feeling
intimidated by recent meteorobs postings! :)

Meteor Photography: when to start trying it; lenses, films, and camera formats
some of us use; reciprocity failure in films; history of meteor photography and
spectrography; scientific uses.

Meteor Spectroscopy: how to do it as an amateur; where to get equipment;
spectroscopic effects on visual observing; journal and book references for
further reading.

Meteorites: terminology; terminal velocity; ablation of meteors in-flight;
"dark fall"; Renaults; theory of micrometeorites and global viral infection.

Reporting a Fireball (very bright meteor) Sighting: what organizations accept
reports; email, postal, and Web report forms; scientific use of reports from
the general public; fireballs and meteorites (see above).
