Steve,

Thank you for responding to Debby's posts but I must jump in and correct
some facts. As an active observer I can assure everyone that visual
activity on the mornings of June 7 and 29 from the listed showers is
next to nothing. These three radiants are situated close to the sun and
cannot rise very high in the sky before sunlight interferes. These
showers are best detected using radio resources.

The Perseids and the Geminids are certainly among the strongest showers
of the year, but what about the Quadrantids (Jan 3, ZHR 120) and the
Leonids (Nov 17 ZHR 50+)?

Perhaps you should have listed the Perseids as your "favorite" instead
of "the best one". Most experienced meteor observers will rate the
Geminids and perhaps the Quadrantids and Leonids superior to the
Perseids.

Steve, I do not intend to demean you contributions, but incorrect facts
must be amended. Please keep posting your comments to the list and I
certainly look forward to your next contribution.

Sincerely,

Robert Lunsford
