(meteorobs) Lyrid Weather

-- [ From: Robert Lunsford * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] --

Well I will attempt to watch tonight for at least 4 hours. We are
experiencing some high clouds that could really put a damper on seeing
any activity at all. George has to work tonight so it appears I will be
going solo. Joseph, I would pick you up except that I must go straight
to work after observing. I'm sure we can get together for the Eta
Aquarids, which will be much better than the Lyrids.

I am very interested in obtaining some LM's with the full moon present,
especially on the heels of the discussion between Rainer and Norman. The
last time I observed under a full moon was during the 94 Leonids. The
air was very transparent that night and I was able to achieve an LM of 5
.6 during the last dark hour. There is no way the conditions will be
that favorable tonight. A good bet would be somewhere between 4.5 and 5.
0, depending on the amount of cirrus clouds present.

If I obtain any data I will post it to the list as soon as I return home
from work.

Best Wishes for Clear Skies!

Bob
