Lew,  

I can only speculate as I have never "heard" a meteor myself. Supposedly
there are true occurrences of humans picking up radio station transmissions
on their dental work.  I think a galvanic reaction can be caused when two
different metal tooth filling alloys come in contact with something acidic
and a diode effect can happen.  I haven't read a definitive scientific
paper on the subject.  Sounds like some people have actually "sensed"
meteors though.
