(meteorobs) ETAs May 5/6, 1997 - San Diego
Hi all,
Here is a report of my first formal meteorobs seesion for 1997! Boy it's
great to be observing again.. esp when you get to hang with a couple
of pros like Bob L and George Z.!! The ETAs were certainly satisfying,
though, I kept thinking last night about my previous meteorobs session
and how awesome a night that was ('96-Geminids!)
Anyway, for the '97 Eta Aquarids, Activity was fairly slow at the
beginning, but my last interval (teff-0.62) yielded 16 meteors (10 ETA, 6
SPO). I observed from 0905-1130 UT and counted a total of 26 meteors. Took
a 15min break (see below). The most notable event.. a wonderful -3 SPO
that travelled ~40deg.
