1997 Eta Aquarids May 8/9

Again I observed for the eta Aquarid meteor shower...still looks like a sad
display to me. From about 1 am to 4:53 am PDT, I recorded 27 meteors. Of
which 11 were eta aquarids. the last hour was the best with 7 seen. I plotted
all other meteors. The brightest was a -1 sporadic...nothing to wet my pants
over that's for sure. On average the Mean Magnitudes were still on the dim
side....probably 3. something? The skies were clear with an average LM near
6.0.  I don't know if I will be out tonight...perhaps the following nite
before going to work? Next week I will settle down and start doing the
reports for the past week.
