Re: (meteorobs) TWA800 and meteors

John Ashcroft

Thanks for your inquiry

Question: Regarding a spokesman discribing the streak of light near the plane
as line of fuel spilling out of ruptured plane.

Answer; The plane would first have rupture and that is the problem. We cannot
find anything that would cause the airplane to rupture.

There were appproximately 1,000 747 aircraft built plus countless other type
aircraft that have center wing fuel tanks, most of the time they are empty.

When the Soviet Union knocked Korean Airlines 747 out of the sky. They fired
two (2) missiles so they are pretty tough old birds.

Thanks for the support.
