Perseid meteors can appear in any part of the sky but to see the most
activity I would suggest facing toward the north or east. Get
comfortable in a lounge chair and just wait for them to appear. Your
chances of seeing more activity increases with the later you watch
and the darker your sky is (rural site suffer from less light
pollution and therefore have darker skies). If you watch from the
city expect to see 20-30 per hour at best and you can easily double
these counts from rural sites.
