(meteorobs) Re:Simple All-Sky Camera reference

I have just come across a photograph of a simple All-Sky camera that
could be made from a convex chrome volkswagon hubcap for very little cost.

See: The Observer's Guide to Astronomy - edited by Patrick Martinez
Volume 2, Practical Astronomy Handbooks 4
         Cambridge University Press - ISBN 0 521 45898 6 - paper back
                                      ISBN 0 521 45265 1 - hardback
page: 618 to 619 Chapter refr. 11.2.1.2 Photographing the aurora

Such a system would work quite well for photographing fireballs.
Amateurs could even set up a fireball patrol network using such a system.
The European Fireball Network use all-sky cameras and also fisheye lenses to
do this. The computer types could even develop a way to make the whole
system automatic. All you would have to do is change the film once in a while.
