Hi, Steve, and thanks for your message. Thanks also to all who've written
with concerns about the current tone of the list. I second Steve's comments
regarding personal emails: keep them off the list. If you feel the need to
criticize an individual's observing, reporting, or writing style, try
posting general GUIDELINES to the list, but limit direct criticism of that
person (particularly in "witty" one-liners) to PERSONAL emails.

After all, the purposes of meteorobs are two-fold:
	1) To ENCOURAGE less-experienced observers to benefit from
	   other subscribers' experience in the field;
	2) To provide a forum for ALL of those interested in meteors.
Neither of these purposes are served very well by personal attacks, acerbic
comments, or polemical flame wars.

Last, I've tried to take steps to limit the number of off-topic posts which
are currently cluttering the list. I hope these measures meet with
subscribers' approval. Mean time, the sky is clearing outside my window (at
last!), and meteors are on my mind for tonight... :)

Clear skies to all,
