I have been observing meteors since 1975. The I have yet to see a
-15. The ones I saw were -6 to -10 mag. and I was comparing them to
the Moon.
A Full Moon is about -12.
How did Thomas make his estimate of magnitude?
As others said, a -15 would be most notable to the joe public and probally
end up as a UFO report!
