Correct me if I'm wrong, but this thread sounds like an excellent argument
for encouraging binocular/telescopic observing during both Taurid maxima,
guys! (Feel free to jump in here, Malcolm. :>)

For folks new to the list, telescopic observing (with a wide field
telescope or better yet binoculars, and plotting on the IMO Telescopic
Meteor charts) has the power to show MUCH more accurate radiant positions
and structures than normal visual plotting. It also (in my VERY limited
experience) helps eliminate "shower prejudice" in plotting, because it's so
much harder (for me) to intuit where in the heck a radiant is relative to
my eyepiece field!
