(meteorobs) [HSMS] geminids

Thought these two reports from the Plains States might be of interest here
(I've reposted MeteorObs reports to ham radio reflectors often; but this is
the first time I've been able to go the other way!).

This relates to Matt's message about people thinking there was an
airborne expolosion...

Last night around 8:00pm CST, there was a very bright flash of blue
light. I was in my sunroon watching a movie when it happened. We
thought it was lightning, but the sky was exceptionally clear. The 2m
radio was on right next to me but I didn't hear a peep. I didn't see a
trial left either. This morning's papers says it was seen in MN, and
Des Moines as well as here in Lincoln, NE. Some observes say they heard
a noise associated with the fireball, but I find that hard to belive.
