Re: Re: (meteorobs) Flt 800

In a message dated 12/16/97 11:55:33 AM, you wrote:

Of the 200 plus witnesses there are many stories. One of the eye-witnesses
first saw a red phosphorescent object with a white smoke trail. It was
traveling in a generally north-south direction whereas Flt 800 traveled west-
east.

When he first saw the "the object' traversing the sky it was 15-20 seconds
from where the "object" stopped glowing* until he noted a small flash of
light. i assume it took some time for the small flash to explode into
something big. I.E. the main explosion of Flt 800. *which you correctly
referred to as the "dark fall"

In referring to an article in Newsday, dated November 8, 1997 he stated, "the
article did not address the long (15-20) rolling sonic boom, which ended with
2 small bursts and one large burst, followed by silence and then two
additional bursts"

He further stated, "There were some clouds in the sky, some of which had a red
cast from the sunset which had occurred 15 minutes before"

it appears to me that most witnesses saw the aircraft exploding. Only a few
apparently saw the "object" before the initial aircraft explosion.

The study continues in several areas and by several people.
