(meteorobs) Impact in Greenland?
I received this from Sky & Telescope's News Bulletin:

IMPACT IN GREENLAND?
There may be fresh meteorites on the Greenland icecap. According to a
report from the University of Copenhagen, a fireball was seen by at least
three fishing trawlers on December 9th. By triangulating their
observations, any surviving debris would have fallen on the frozen expanse
of southern Greenland. While the preliminary report makes comparisons to
the Cape York meteorite shower found on Greenland (with samples retrieved
in 1894), as NASA scientist David Morrison points out, "only a couple of
percent of the objects that strike Earth are metallic," and thus likely to
survive the fiery plunge through the atmosphere.
