(meteorobs) Fireball in Halifax Jan.2
hello Observers';
saw a nice fireball as I walked to the store, below is the info.
anyone else see it?
Date of the fireball: Jan. 2, 1998
Time: 2228 UTC
Cloud (none or %): 15%
If possible provide coordinates from a topographic map
Latitude - deg, min, sec: N 44d 39' 13.80"
Longitude - deg, min, sec: W 63d 36m 29.30"
FIREBALL PARAMETERS
Beginning point right ascension: 00h 10m
Beginning point declination: -16d 56'
Ending point right ascension: 01h 17m
Ending point declination: -26d 32'
Probable error in points (deg): 1
Apparent magnitude: -4.5
Duration (seconds): 6 seconds
Apparent speed: Slow
Describe flares, fragments, etc.: as fireball ended it broke into
3-4 white pieces, they faded slowly.
Colour(s): White
Persistent Train: No
Sound(s): No
