Yes good luck, I looked it up in the Catalogue of Meteorites and it was never
reported. 
However there have been 25 recoveries from Tenn. Meteorites were always named
after the closest Post Office to their location - see what the nearest PO was
back in 1940, and start your search near there. I don't know where Dyersburg
is off the top of my head, so LMK and I'll get a list of the Tenn. Meteorites
for you - maybe it was discovered.
