Just like a friend who photographed the supernova in M81 (I think)  a few days
before its "official" discovery. Problem was he didn't know what he had until
AFTER the discovery.  Every galaxy photographer should have the "Spot a
Supernova" guide books. (OK, OK I forget the real name of the guides - but
y'all get the point)  :)
