Someone pointed out in the astro newsgroups, quite correctly, that the reason for the big brou ha ha was do to the fact that not only did they issue a circular (IAUC), which was appropriate (asking for more data), they also issued a press release which in hindsight proved to be off by half a million KM. These were 2 separarte releases. Wayne
