(meteorobs) Fireball



        A fireball as bright or brighter than the full moon was observed
crossing Vancouver Island, Canada on April 15, 1998, at around 21:20 hrs
PDT. Reports are being collected by MIAC Associate member, Ed Majden at
epmajden@mars.ark.com  Reports will be reduced by Dr. Jermey Tatum at the
Universiy of Victoria.  If you saw this fireball please send a report to the
above.  Information required is, compass bearing of first sighting corrected
to true north, elevation above the horizon measured with a clinometer or
similar device.  Also, compass bearing of last sighting or end point and
elevation above the horizon. note: Also corrected to true north.  Longitude
and Latitude of your location from a topographical map or GPS reading.
