Michael,

Actually they will probably have little effect due to the fact that 
not many people will be photographing with a large -11 magnitude 
gibbous moon be present in the sky during the Perseids this year. If 
one was photographing and caught one of these flares on film the 
streak would be very bright in the center portion and dim on both 
ends. Meteors can appear this way but most of them are brighter 
toward the end with the terminal burst.

I would advise everyone out watching to obtain a list of predicted 
flares. Not only are they interesting to see but they just might 
prove to be that -6 Perseid you thought you caught on film. Good
