(meteorobs) Observations June 3 and 4

After a run of about 3 1/2 weeks of cloudy and moon filled skies I have finally been blessed with a few clear nights !! I
have been, through gaps in bad weather and fog, able to observe for a total of 4 hours over two nights.

I monitored four streams which appear on our stream lists. The main stream observed was the Scorpid/Sag radiant the other 3
were minor streams, Alpha Phonecids, Aplha Piscid Austrinids and the Nu Capricornids.

Rates were reasonable on the first night with 13 seen in 1.5h. On the second night rates were excelent for the LM. 35
meteors observed in 2.5h. Quite entertaining. I have listed times and dates in Local Time (AEST). The time zone is +10 hours if
you want to know to convert to UT. My preliminary results are as follows:

Date Time LT LM Teff Sco/Sag APho APscAus NuCap Spo Tot

4/6/98 01.55-02.55 +6.1 0.91 1 0 0 1 13 15
4/6/98 02.55-03.25 +6.1 0.48 0 0 0 1 6 7

In the 1st hour of the 1st night, meteor number 2 was my 500th meteor for the year. Only a +4 w Spo but that's ok. The best on
the morning of the 3rd was a -2.5 y/g Sporadic with a 3 sec train. The best for the morning of the 4th was a -1.5 y Sporadic with
a 3 sec train.

I hope to get out as soon as the moon is out of the way. Until then, cleat skies.
