Subject: RASC List: strange meteor shower and bolide

An observer in Vancouver notified us at HIA in Victoria about a bolide on
Saturday, and David Balam of UVic caught it on his new all-sky camera
(provided by Sandia National Laboratories) in Victoria. David has two other
observers on Vancouver Island operating identical cameras to hopefully
determine the impact sites of meteorites.

No word yet about whether this bolide (about -4) was a member of this shower
yet, but it was the first bolide detection for this all-sky network. If any
observers in the Vancouver Island / Vancouver area see a bolide, let me or
David know (David is at cosmos@uvvm.uvicdot ca).
