This must have been very impressive!! Did you see a persistent
train ? For me I've never seen any brighter than -7 or -8. And those 
were only seen during the peak of the Perseids shower. Do you think 
yours was a sporadic ? Or possibly related with one of the known (minor) 
meteor showers active at this time ?
