(meteorobs) what's going on?

Dear MeteorObs Folks,

In light of the current heat wave, I'm thinking maybe the astrophysics guys
misjudged the age of the Sun and it's starting it's growth to Red-Giant status
NOW.

up a 24-hour help line for people overcome by the heat, and Rhode Island's
governor authorized the state to buy fans for the elderly. Swimming pools in
New York City and Providence were ordered to extend their hours into the
evening.

The heat wave remained centered on the southern Plains, where at least 87
deaths in Texas have been blamed on the heat and where
<A HREF="aol://4344:333.KDFWfcst.1159143.543346386">Dallas</A> expected to top
100 degrees for the 17th day in a row.

But at least brief relief was forecast in northern Texas for this weekend,
with a cold front expected to hold temperatures below 100.

In Texas, the deadly heat wave has state and utility officials urging people
to turn on their air conditioners and worry about the bills later.
