Subject: Possible?

   I am fortunate to live on 300 very country acres in West Michigan and
on clear nights see at LEAST one "shooting star".  I did see one last
night (7/27) that was quite odd.  At the end of its streak through the
sky, it seemed to slow and curve inward (like a fish hook) and then
finish burning up.  Was it a meteor? Or was it something else burning up
that happened to catch a strong wind?  I was just curious.
