(meteorobs) Observations July 29/30
Hi Everyone!!
Well, I got out again on July 29/30 for just under 2 teff hours
before the clouds from the south covered everything . It was really
great. My LM averaged 6.1. Started at 6.3 then progressed downhill
until when I closed out at an LM of 4.7 . I took a count at the end
just to see what the LM might be.
I saw more meteor activity last night than I have since I started
meteor observing in the Spring. It was a good night. Things really
get hairy when you have 2 to 3 going at the same time.
One thing is for sure, when you listen to the tape the next time you
are semi-awake you can get a good chuckle.
While out in the darkness of the universe : ), I came up with a few
more questions;
1) For plotting I know that you plot the begin and end point, and he
wavy line for trains, however, has anyone ever drawn lines back and
taken them to the radiants to make sure that they belonged to the
radiants that you called them. I know that some people use the cord
or hand measurements to taked the meteor back in the sky to a
possible radiant, but has it ever been done on paper.
2) Question can anyone please tell me that speed of North Delta
Aquarids. I have some meteors that could be classed as this, but
uncertain of the speed.
Well, thats all for now, still going through the tape, so if there
are more questions, I shall be posting.
Kim
