(meteorobs) six point five....
Howdy Lew and other number enthusiasts.......
Sorry about the limiting mag silliness. I was yet spinnin' my wheels
in amazement that such a night sky not only rises and falls over a
piece
of Ohio, but it does so over 13 acres I get to have for a while.......
...
As per my notes, the limiting magnitude was +6.5......though it sure
seemed
like 212 <G>...................
.....and boy did I try to line up those numbers, first when I was
puttin'
the note together, and again when I imported it to my mailer. Guess
I'm
table-aligned challenged, but will keep at it..........if I get to
get out
for more meteors.
*****Non-meteor stuff follows, but nature just the same*****
Lew, you a bird watcher, too? The best night time voice
we have there is that of the whippoorwill. Really kinda spooky but
lovely just
the same.
There is a pileated woodpecker which laughs each morning, and
a cuckoo which clucks during the day...........
The three prairies we've visited down there, in Adams Co, are
Lynx (the best, I think), Adams Lake and Chaparral. There are
actually several prairies/prairie remnants in Ohio, surprisingly.
And wetlands and bogs and nature, nature, nature.........
The area we live in has fallen prey to the relentless advance
of developers. One of the symptoms of their disease has been
the consumption of night sky.......so, hopefully, my wife and I
will relocate in Adams Co. within the next 2 years........start
an herb and everlasting farm.
Hmmmm. Sounds like George has been to southern Ohio. Many hippies,
young
and old have settled there. Lots o' hills to get lost in, I guess.
Police fly-overs
are findin' mary-wannie crops all the time.....
Okay then...........maybe I ought t' e-mail you for more thrills and
chills with
Ohio nature...........
