Mark,

The farmer is actually an old friend of one of the observers in our 
group. 
The work he has done for preparing our site seems to be in exchange for 
past favors relating to business. The farmer is even giving away one of 
those 20 feet diameter 12 feet high metallic domes for the upcoming 
observatory.
