Fireball 1998 Aug 03 between about 20:00 to 20:13 UT

Between Brisbane and Sydney.

Brightness:  Very bright, probably much brighter than the full Moon

Duration: a few seconds

Reports are very sketchy, as most have come from the media, but there was
undoubtedly a very bright event about 30 mins before sunrise this morning,
in the morning twilight.  No reports of sonics as yet.  Inland NSW was clouded
out at the time, so only reports are likely from the coast.
