Kevin,

From experience, I would still make the trip to a dark sky, even with a 
full moon in the sky. By observing near your house, you get city light
pollution PLUS the bright interfering moon. So you can expect a very 
awful sky (probably worse than 5.0).

In a remote location, as far as possible from the city (but with the moon 
in the sky), your LM will not be fantastic of course but still quite 
acceptable for data. Make sure you set up to face away from the moon.
Also, I'd be very careful at all times not to stare at it, or else the
bright glare will bring down your night vision considerably!
