(meteorobs) August Observations.
Hi All
I have been able to do a few hours this August so far. The weather has been getting better towards the
end of winter, and it has been particularly good over this new moon so far.
I have a total of 9 hours this month so far. Listed below is the break-up of them. They were made over
3 separate nights. I hope to get out tonight if it stays clear for another 3.
I missed the chat on IRC last night as I was out with a local astro-society doing a mini-workshop with
them. It was a great night. We had 3 observers there, myself, David Girling and Sharron Fletcher. We observed for a total of 9
hours and saw a few good meteors. We all hope to get out next weekend, and maybe a few more of us as well.

Alot of minor streams observed, dur to the lack of any major strems, I had to pull out the list of minor
radiants I have. The 3 hours on the 23/8 were made from the AS Frankstons dark sky site in Mornington, about 55 kms SE of
Melbourne. Sky a little better than my house at Cranbourne.
So far this year I have made a total of 79 hours of observations (Teff = 73.23) and a total of 991 meteors. The next night I go
out I should reach the 1000.
Comments are welcome please..
