Actually, that was an excellent starter's report, Laurie! You managed to get 
the MOST IMPORTANT information in, even if your session was too short: you 
noted the Limiting Magnitude (once you get down the IMO method for measuring 
this, it gets a lot easier!), you noted your exact observing period, you 
determined shower vs. non-shower meteors, and you even managed to start 
estimating your meteor magnitudes...

You are well on your way to collecting valuable data while you watch! And don't 
feel bad if your schedule and weather don't always cooperate! Just get a little 
more time under the sky this Summer and Fall, whenever you can. You'll be an 
"Olde Salte" answering meteor questions here on the list in no time. :)
