Nothing to be sorry about. It was VERY close, when you put it into the perspective of the scale of the universe. You are probably about 50 or 60 miles from Portales and our closest solar system neighbor is our Moon and it is about 235,000 miles away. Yep, that meteor was close enough you might want to start wearing a football helmet all the time!! You are VERY lucky to have seen a daylight meteor. Keep looking up, Wesley
