(meteorobs) Dumb Question

Dumb Question # 2381C:

What does a dark sky look like through night-vision goggles? Do the stars
become blurry, faint pinpoints; or are they still pinpoints but brighter;
or are they visible at all? I remember hearing that the goggles amplify
starlight such that objects in front of the goggles appear brighter; but
what effect does that have on stars? The sky background will appear
brighter, won't it?

I presume that most meteors will appear the same as stars would, then,
except perhaps slightly brighter and moving?

Are there different classes of night-vision machines that enhance such
faint pinpoints of light?

Clear skies,
