(meteorobs) Re:Two-station fireball detection



                 Vancouver Island All-sky Fireball Report


        A moderately fast fireball of approximate magnitude -5 to -6 was
recorded on 30 August 1998 at 06:51:20 UT.  From the All-sky camera location
in Courtenay, B.C. the fireball was in the south east quadrant of the sky
heading in a southerly direction.  It was also recorded by another network
camera situated at the University of Victoria, Victoria B.C.  The Courtenay
video tape will be sent to Victoria for analysis by Dr. Jeremy B. Tatam, at
UVic. and David Balam, Space Guard Canada.
        Another fireball reported on this net from the State of Washington
on August 28, was not recorded by this network.
