This idea should definitely be supported!  I will post the invitation to
Russian Fidonet astronomy newsgroup tomorrow (messages expire in two weeks
there).  Don't guarantee participation of professionals but at least there
are interested amateurs in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok regions who are able
to detect if something special is going on! :)  Hopefully we find somebody
in Novosibirsk and Ural regions to cover as much of longitude as possible.

In my turn I will be able to watch from my workplace here in Moscow on the
evening of Oct. 8th and communicate with all of you in the real time.
