Glad to hear about your observation. Those are good rates for
a one hour watch under suburban skies! And that was sure a good sky!
I got up about the same time but I could not fully wake up.
I know a few here wont believe it at all, but I really do get tired
sometimes. Neverthless, I noticed how cristal clear the sky was, and
decided to go in my backyard to casually observe for a short time,
without doing any serious recording. My limiting magnitude was about
5.8. Certainly a very crisp sky! Under averted vision, I could glimpse
a couple extra faint Pleiades stars, besides the seven visible. Even the
winter Milky Way showed a hint of visibility. While examining some of
the bright winter star patterns, I did catch a few swift meteors.
Now I just hope this kind of haze-free, cloud-free sky will reappear
for the fall meteor showers!
