Actually, the examples I had in mind *were* all from Europe; but after I
wrote the above, I realized I've also seen some Japanese reports through
last spring and summer of conditions that were comparable to European but
not NA typical conditions. So I added "...Asians..." above and forgot about
having done that when I replied last...Sorry, my mistake! However, I have
heard almost nothing of meteor scatter activities in Japan or elsewhere in
Asia. That's kinda curious as the one large 49 MHz space debris radar still
running in the world is the original one built by the Japanese, who've
published many meteor observations similar to those most recently from Jiri
in the Czech Republic. But then, *you* know all that, Jim!

Somebody asked the question on a ham meteor-scatter reflector whether there
were any radars publishing data on-line in realtime; I've still not heard
either way.
