Actually Deneb is 5degs southwest and 61 Cygni is 9degs south of the
'ahead-point', which is the plane of the Milky Way. But relative to this
swarm of revolving stars, our system is is drifting quite sharply in a
different direction toward about 18h 4m 30s. This is near the border of
Lyra and so Vega is called "the Apex of the Sun's Way". The opposite
direction is the Antapex or "the Sun's Quit", near Sirius but just across
the border in Columba.
