(meteorobs) Leonid Weather Prospects

Well. . . computer models are gradually beginning to come together in their
solutions for early next week. The most significant feature as the week gets
underway will be a storm system intensifying near Nova Scotia. High pressure
should be building in from southern Quebec and into the northeast U.S. This
should set the stage for mostly clear skies for these regions on Monday night
(although high cloud might spread into parts of the mid-Atlantic states).

Meanwhile, low pressure will be pushing into Minnesota, with its associated
warm front extends south and east through the Tennessee Valley. Low clouds
and scattered precipitation may well be the rule near and this low pressure
center and the frontal line.

Much of the western U.S. looks okay. . . an upper-level disturbance may be
centered near the Texas Panhandle while a Pacific high should be building into
northern California.
