RE: (meteorobs) Leonids over the UK

I'm looking forward to it here in San José, California, however,
unfortunately, the forecast is for clouds and rain tonight and tomorrow
night so I will probably be reduced to webcasts. Better them than not all,
I guess!

Subject: (meteorobs) Leonids over the UK

Hi all,

2.39am here, I went out at midnight, and have only come back in because of
the sudden arrival of cloud froim the west... but since going out I've seen
literally HUNDREDS of shooting stars, purple, electric blue, green... some
of
them so bright they cast shadows and ended in a flare so bright it lit up
the
countryside for miles... brightest was easily mag -11, left a train that
waved
and twisted in the air for 10 MINUTES... unbelievable, absoilutely
unbelievable, that's what a meteor shower SHOULD be like...

It's cloudy now but as I walked home some were so bright they were flashing
BEHIND the clouds, and probably are even as I write this....!!

So, all you guys westwards of me, all my US pals, if there's even a chance
of
a clear sky there tonight go take a look, it should be amazing, because by
the
time you're in darkness there you'll be even nearer the "peak" than I am
here
... it's like the end of ID4 out there...!

Back to bed now with my alarm set for 04.00 in the hope the cloud clears...

Wowwwwwwwwwwwww.... :-)))))

Clear skies all,

Stuart Atkinson,
Cumbria UK.
