(meteorobs) Storm?
At the bottom of this message is something I found in my inbox, which was the subject of much blabbering and discussion at our local astronomy club meeting tonight. Note that, at best, this comes by way of a friend of a friend of a friend, and I have not been able to confirm yet.
Also, I observed through a large, hazy sucker patch from 10:00-11:00 UT, November 16. I _directly_ observed 5 meteors: 1 LEO of -2 through clouds, 1 NTA of +0, and 3 SPOs of -1, 1, and 2. I also saw two bright flashes in the thick clouds, which could have come from the LEO radiant. I fear I may have stopped observing too soon due to haze and not expecting much activity. Tonight is hazy/cloudy with a threatening forecast (in NW Oregon), but some area weather stations are reporting clear skies and even in bad areas the clouds are thin enough to see those -8 to -16 fireballs if they really exist.
