(meteorobs) Leonids over southern UK 0500-0600 UT



I watched from the beach in Portsmouth, UK, so not very dark (LM = 3 to 4,
I guess) from 0500 to 0600 UT (and local time). Clear sky for the first
half hour then 30-50% thin cloud (you could see the brighter stars through
it). But lots of meteors, usually less than a minute apart, and sometimes 2
or 3 per minute. Several bright green ones. One bright one left a train
that was still hanging round 5 minutes later.

Absolutely positively worth getting up for.
