Hello to all!! I don't have words to count that happened the last night (16-17 november) with the Leonids. During the end of week several partners had observed a minimum activity of this rain, even the messages that arrived of the list ' meterobs' with observations of all parts of the world, they indicated that the activity it was not excessively big, in periods of 1 hour 3 or 4 were observed Leonids. The passing dawn moves about 15 observers to the summits of Gran Canaria, and on 0h TU, we were preparing our photographic cameras and finishing our positions of observation for when the radiant one left this rain. The meteors went ascending for moments, fireballs came below the one horizon this and that they crossed the whole sky..... the thing was been encouraging........... . To weigh that the radiant one was leaving in those moments, we observe one important activity, the 90% fireballs with magnitudes understood among -2 and -4; some included one reached magnitudes of -9, most of them with trail of several seconds and the most brilliant with trails until of 5 minutes visually. As the radiant one rose on the East we observed bigger activity, for moments we were not able to to carry out the count with our recording ones because they even appeared in intervals of 2 seconds up to 6 meteors. Until the dawn the activity you it maintained, with some ups and downs, but always characterized by fireballs very brilliant and with trails between the 5 seconds and the 8 minutes. Unfortunately, it was made by day and with the radiant one almost in the Zennit, already they came from all parts. Matías Dávila among the 0h 30m TU until 06h TU it counted about 800 meteors. Maximum Suárez and Fracisco Rodríguez visually in intervals of 10 minutes, they observed up to 50 meteors. Orlando Rodríguez and Closan in little more than two hours about 300 meteors. Many of us page the visual observation (count) with the it photographs..... Carlos More he carried out picture exclusively and sincerely........ it lost the bill of the photographed fireballs These are the preliminary results of the Leónidas from Great Canaria. -- Atte. *********************************************************** Francisco A.
