(meteorobs) Leonids, Radio & Visual
Greetings:
Weather over North Central AZ is clear with some local fog moving in from
the south over Prescott.
Dual visual and radio observations of Leonids are producing an average of 1
visual event and two radio events per minute as of 2:00 AM local time .
Many of the radio events are from "over-dense" ion trails that are
persisting for so long that many radio reflections overlap.
About 40% of the visual sightings are producing radio reflections. In
addition, we are hearing a large number of "under-dense" metoer reflections
(short lived - 1 to 3 seconds) which are not noted viaually.
It is a great night for the Leonids!
