(meteorobs) Re: Tape Recorder for observing?

John and all,

I use a Radio Shack recorder model CTR-66 Cat. No. 14-1151 It may be a
bit more bulky than most recorders but it has the advantage of a
plug-in microphone with an off-on switch. Instead of using the record
or pause button I leave the recorder in the record mode and can operate
it by using the switch on the microphone. You can record with minimal
effort and keep most of your body parts (including the recorder if
necessary) under the blanket. I was able to record over 400 meteors on
one side of a 90 minute cassette during the recent Leonid display.

I hope this helps.
