Re: (meteorobs) meteorite or ????

Hello Geoff, Rob, Graham

I  do both collect and study.  As I recall I sent an email to you Geoff,  and Rob my colleague in Scotland.
The email to Geoff was returned to me as "Unable to deliver for 5 days".

In Scotland; (FERNLEA4@aol.com)  http://hometown.aol.com/FERNLEA4/    Try him first.   Last I talked to my Rob  he was going to see if he could take a look at the stone.  My initial inclination was that it was not meteoric based on the description and the widespread occurrence of military shrapnel in Europe- -  But I deferred making a more definitive judgment.  I rely more on Robs judgment and he is in the UK.

May I also suggest Monica Grady at the British Museum   Monica Grady  (mmg@nhm.acdot uk)

In France is also the Labenne Family ,world renown in meteorite collection in the Sahara. Labenne Meteorites

I am afraid I do not know any University Staff in France. But there is also a lab in Switzerland. Contact me if you run into a dead eand and i'll look further.

Regards,
Elton Jones

There has been no comment on my friends find, described in
the meteorobs-digest vol.3, no. 27 (last item).

Is there really no one out there who has studied or collected meteorites?

If anyone has any comment, I would be most grateful!
