(meteorobs) video observations June 99
Hello folks,
just to show you that there are also active meteor observers in Germany... :-)
I have been operating my video system AVIS autonomously in every clear night
starting from March '99. Here are the June data. Unfortunately the weather
was very poor in the first part of the month (not even one clear night!), but
on the other hand there were several clear night in a row at the end.
The camera is operated at the balcony of my flat in the city of Aachen
(6 deg E, 51 deg N). It has a diameter of field of view of 40 deg. The
limiting magnitude is about 5 mag in clear, moonless nights.
In about 23 hours of effective observing time (teff) I recorded an overall
of 62 meteors. Most of them were sporadic, but I also catched three June
Lyrids and a few Sagittarids. The following table gives the numbers for
each night.
