This is semi-offtopic, but I thought it was very neat!
The SETI@Home (http://setiathome.ssldot berkeleydot edu/) program allows
individuals to process extraterrestrial radio signals, in the search for
extraterrestrial intelligence.
The program runs as a screen saver. It downloads data packets from the
SETI@Home Web site. Mine has been running for 33 hours and is 75% done
processing the first data packet.
It is very interesting!
